Re.BooooN!, a company that buys fruits and vegetables grown by farmers that are about to be thrown away because they do not meet the standards, processes them into additive-free ingredients such as jams, butter, and smoothies, and sells them, has started a food waste experience event in collaboration with other companies and organizations.
Since Re.BooooN! established its workshop in Shin-Osaka in March 2023, the workshop has been holding free jam-making trial sessions, with approximately 200 people attending so far.
This is an educational food experience where participants can actually see non-standard vegetables, learn that they are not necessarily inferior in taste, and learn about the issue of food waste in Japan's primary industries in the form of a quiz, then make jam to take home.
In order to further expand this initiative, we have now launched a new event in collaboration with companies and organizations.

In collaboration with the Osaka Prefectural Government (Wada Takehiro), Re.BooooN! participated in an event to create an original yakiniku sauce using sesame and Riboon ingredients that are difficult to commercialize during the manufacturing process, as well as a work experience program for elementary school students called "Hello Work for 12-Year-Olds" run by the Osaka Danshi Ikiiki Foundation (located in Tennoji-ku, Osaka City, chairman: Kyogoku Tsutomu).
Going forward, we will provide original opportunities to learn about food waste in various locations, flexibly responding to the requests of collaborating companies and organizations.

■About Re.BooooN! <br data-mce-fragment="1">About 2 million tons of vegetables and fruits each year (according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries) are unable to enter the market due to reasons such as substandard sizes or blemishes. At Re.BooooN!, we purchase these hidden food waste ingredients at a fair price, transform them into processed foods such as jams and butter, and sell them.
We take full advantage of the flavors of ingredients carefully grown by farmers and thoroughly develop our products so that they can be delivered to customers as handmade, additive-free products. We have also set up a "handmade workshop" in Shin-Osaka, where both children and adults can have a fun jam-making experience while learning about hidden food waste.
We are working towards creating a service called "Well-Food" that is delicious, fun, and makes customers realize that the food they chose was actually a food waste product.
